1873 Willa Sibert Cather was born in Back Creek Valley, Virginia. 1895 Cather graduated from the University of Nebraska. She had first arrived at the University dressed as William Cather, her opposite sex twin. 1903 Her first books were a poetry collection, April Twilights 1905 A short story collection, The Troll Garden was published. 1912 Alexander`s Bridge, was published. 1913 Many of her books drew on her memories and knowledge of Nebraska. first woman voted into the Nebraska Hall of Fame. 1974 She was inducted into the Hall of Great Westerners in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 1988 She was inducted into the National Women`s Hall of Fame at Seneca, New York. |
